On July 7, Members of Southern Pioneer Electric’s Helping Us Give to Society (HUGS) team presented $2,500 to the Medicine Lodge High School Leader in Me Team for custom wall graphics to be installed throughout the Medicine Lodge school district. The team hopes the wraps will promote school spirit for students, community members, and faculty.
“The team’s goal is that these wraps will foster a sense of pride and ownership among students and staff,” said group sponsor Taylor Theis. “We’re looking to incorporate these graphics at each school in the district. We’ll have two at the Junior High and High school and one placed on the office windows at the entrance of the grade school.”
The Leader in Me team consists of twenty-three Medicine Lodge High School students and one adult sponsor. Students are divided into 3 sub-teams focused on promoting and demonstrating positive leadership, culture and academics. Theis hopes that through their service on the team, students will build skills through planning and implementing various service projects.
“It’s great to see these students collaborating to better their community,” said Ruby Terrazas, HUGS representative. “We’re excited to assist them with this project and help these students reach their goal.”
