As part of Southern Pioneer’s deregulation, the utility has committed to creating four additional board seats to be filled by Southern Pioneer Electric consumers. These seats will represent the territory “at large” and will be selected by formal appointment. Interested candidates must meet all required qualifications and submit an application packet by Sept. 30, 2026, for formal review. Candidates will then be subject to an interview.
Interested individuals will need to provide the following for consideration:
- A completed application packet that can be found through the link below or picked up at any of our offices located in Liberal (1490 General Welch Blvd) or Medicine Lodge (3997 NE Well Rd).
- Short biography (500 word limit): Biography must be submitted in person, via email (to mbrungardt@pionnerelectric.coop) or mailed. The applicant will be responsible for the content of their submission. Southern Pioneer Electric WILL NOT proofread, make edits or alter the submitted information (except for profanity of any kind).
- Headshot photo: Must be submitted either digitally or in a physical format.
- A resume: Must be submitted either digitally or in a physical format.
- A statement of application (250 word limit): Statement should express the applicant’s interest in serving on the Southern Pioneer Electric’s Board of Directors. Must be submitted either digitally or in a physical format.
